Beauty at it's finest......Clutch wallet of black velvet
Embroidered intricately with Zardozi Silver
Measures 7 inches by 4 inches
(Embroidery worn in two bottom corners , one thread loose in upper clutch)
Zardozi embroidery is beautiful metal embroidery, which once used to embellish the attire of the Kings and the royals in India. It was also used to adorn walls of the royal tents, scabbards, wall hangings and the paraphernalia of regal elephants and horses. Zardozi embroidery work involves making elaborate designs, using gold and silver threads. Further adding to the magnificence of the work are the studded pearls and precious stones.
Zardosi embroidery has been in existence in India from the time of the Rig Veda. There are numerous instances mentioning the use of zari embroidery as ornamentation on the attire of gods. Initially, the embroidery was done with pure silver wires and real gold leaves. However, today, craftsmen make use of a combination of copper wire, with a golden or silver polish, and a silk thread. This is because there is hardly any availability of gold/silver on such a large scale as before

Up for auction. Here is a nice Vintage and what I would describe as Petite Burgundy BOSCA Wallet & Coin-Purse. I think it would work for either a Lady or a Man but due to it’s smaller size was probably originally meant as a Ladies wallet and coin holder. Wallet is preowned and does have some signs of having been used in the past. The signs of usage that I notice though are generally slight and do not detract from the overall look of this petite wallet but I will endeavor to describe the minor flaws that I see. The inside bill holder area is nice and appears clean with no markings. The change purse, however, has a small white spotty area inside and I can also see several small indent marks where coins have been. Where the coin purse bottom is on the inside of wallet there is also a overlap where a tiny piece of leather is not attached (see photos). For one of the photos I actually raised this little piece of leather up so you can see what I mean but it is actually a very tiny area and lies flat against the wallet and is not that noticeable. On outside of wallet there are a couple speck-size off-color spots and a bit of normal crinkling found in aged leather. I have tried to capture all of the MINOR flaws in the photos included so please view all of these photos to get a good idea of this wallet’s look, design, condition and size. I know in trying to be thorough with my description I have probably made this wallet sound really bad but it really is still in overall very nice condition and is a standout with that beautiful burgundy color. Item will be mailed via USPS First Class.
