    Super cool and iconic piece from this time. In excellent condition!

    ALL MEASUREMENTS TAKEN WHILE LAYING FLAT.
    CIVIL WAR ERA FIGURED WHITE SILK WAIST COAT W PENNED ID
    DATING TO BEFORE 1860, A PENNED NOTE OF ID IS ON THE REAR SIDE BELTING AND STATES THAT IT WAS A WEDDING WAIST COAT OF CHARLES WARD MARRIED TO MARGHARITE HARADEN BEFORE 1860.
    FASHIONED OF A FLORAL FIGURED SILK AND APPEARS TO BE STITCHED FULLY BY HAND THROUGHOUT.
    THE CHEST IS PADDED TO GIVE FULLNESS, POCKETS ON EACH SIDE WITH A HIGH CHEST POCKET ON THE LEFT AND SELF COVERED SMALL BUTTONS CLOSE THE FRONT.
    GLAZED COTTON BACKING WITH BELTING AND AN ORNATE DOUBLE PRONGED BUCKLE CLOSURE
    CONDITION
    :  SMALL YELLOWING IS SEEN ALONG THE CLOSURE WITH THE BOTTOM BUTTON HAVING SILK BREAKING AROUND IT BUT IT IS UNSEEN WHEN BUTTONED AND THAT BUTTON NEEDS A MORE STRENGTHENING STITCH.  VERY FAINT UNDERARM COLOR AT THE EDGE AND A SMALL YELLOW SPOT ON ONE LAPEL.
