Dashing Vtg 1961 Salt & Pepper BLACK Panel 3PIECE Suit 38

True vintage dated - 1961. Very clean vintage pre-owned. Seldom found vintage 60's 3-Piece salt an pepper paneled suit. Color from a distance looks black on black striping but closer looks more salt & pepper panel striped suit, certainly intricate. All season wool suit. High cut lapels, 4-pocket vest. You can make out an " 8" on the the stamp on the inside tag and the suit is consistant with a size 38 but as ever, go with the measurements. JACKET: Pit to pit 20.25", sleeve from shoulder 24", shoulders 17", length from center back neckline seam 30.5". Center vent in the back. Skeleton liner. PANTS: Waist 30" +2", inseam 29.5" + 2". Flat fronts, coin pocket, metal talon zipper. VEST: Pit to pit 18.5", length from center back 20.5".
Wow, you don’t find vintage tuxes like this very often! Fine black wool with luxurious black satin brocade lapels, cuffs, vest and pant trim. Very full, low-crotch pants, boxy jacket, stunning.

Total length = 30”
Condition: Some fraying along neck, left upper lapel and cuffs.

Low-cut, backless black satin brocade vest

This suit was owned by a working jazz musician, and it’s delicate, so it has wear, but it still shows beautifully for editorial or stage wear, and is the ultimate must-have for 1920s-30s jazz age Gatsby-themed events!
